Castles, Tea & History...Your Ticket to England and Downton Abbey

From the 50th anniversary of the Beatles debut in America, to the hugely popular PBS Masterpiece Theater program, Downton Abbey, Americans never seem to tire of their fascination with Great Britain. In fact, the first episode of the fourth series of Downton Abbey drew a record audience in the US of 10.2 million viewers and is the highest-rated drama season premiere in the network’s history.  This fascination with Britain has inspired Lynette Miller, owner of Traveling Troubadour Cruises & Tours, to put together an exclusive customized tour of England’s past and present.  “This is a tour I have always wanted to do, and Downton Abbey has given me the perfect excuse!” said Lynette.

From August 1-9, 2014, travelers will have the opportunity to be immersed in the spirit and charm of England on a fully escorted tour led by Lynette, who has been arranging custom group tours for over 12 years.  Nowadays people want to experience the true culture of an area instead of just taking a “canned” sightseeing tour.

Many unique events are included so participants can see the sights, yet absorb the culture and flavor of the country in an affordable, entertaining, and enlightening experience.  Included:  Fully escorted custom tour, hotel accommodations for 7 nights including all hotel tips and taxes, breakfast daily, a welcome pub dinner in Bristol, 2 hotel dinners in Solihull, a traditional Cream Tea at a farmhouse, dinner in a London pub with literary connections, an Elizabethan Farewell Banquet, admission into the SS Great Britain, Roman Baths, Avebury, Alexander Keiller Museum, Ann Hathaway’s Cottage, Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Warwick Castle and Downton Abbey’s Highclere Castle.  Also included is a stop in Bampton, where the village scenes for Downton Abbey are filmed, an Oxford walking tour and the London Hop On/Hop Off bus tour tickets.   For those who wish to start their British experience in the US, Traveling Troubadour Cruises & Tours has secured optional group air for tour participants on the British-owned Virgin Atlantic airlines.

Reservations are being accepted now through May 19, 2014.  More information and the complete itinerary is available at:  http://travelingtroubadour.com/England-DowntonAbbey_2014.htm
